Christopher Manfredi
Born in Holyoke, MA, and raised in West Springfield, MA, Christopher Manfredi grew up in a close-knit town in western Massachusetts where he lived for twenty-five years. In 1993, Mr. Manfredi graduated from Fitchburg State College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. His first break came in 1995 when he was hired as a fifth-grade teacher at East Street School in Ludlow, Massachusetts. He then lived in Ludlow for a few years before moving to Chicopee.
Mr. Manfredi went on to earn his master’s degree in elementary administration and in 2002 made the difficult decision to accept a position as assistant principal in the Westfield Public Schools. He has been an administrator there for the past 23 years. Mr. Manfredi is currently on the district’s safety team and attendance team. He is also a member of Westfield River Elementary School’s PBIS team and Instructional Leadership team.
Just over a year ago, Mr. Manfredi and his family moved back to Ludlow, where their daughter will be starting kindergarten in the fall. He realizes the importance of giving back to the town that gave him an opportunity to teach almost 30 years ago, and made the decision in 2024 to run for a seat on the school committee in the March 2025 election.
Mr. Manfredi’s 30-year30 year career gives him a different lens to look at education. He asks questions about safety, attendance, instruction, curriculum, and budget, just to name a few. He is a collaborator on all levels and with all people. His greatest strength lies in his relationships with all students he crosses paths with. He has high expectations of all educators and expects schools to offer children the best part of their day. Mr. Manfredi wants to be that voice representing the town’s needs and concerns that benefit all of our students. He wants to bring the community together and create an atmosphere where all students feel welcome and supported.
