Amanda Codding
Born in Springfield, MA, and raised primarily in East Longmeadow, MA, Amanda Codding made Ludlow her home in 2010 after falling in love with the community while working at the Randall Boys and Girls Club. She has been in Ludlow ever since with her husband and children who have all been through the Ludlow Public Schools.
Being born into a family of public servants gave Amanda Codding her first start in the field of education, and she has continued to keep education at the center of her own family and career path. Amanda has a bachelor’s degree in media communications and English writing from Assumption College and a master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Secondary ELA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has also completed a year of doctoral work from Northeastern University in Curriculum, Teaching, Planning, and Leadership. Education is Amanda’s passion, and she works in many sectors to attain the broadest possible understanding of schooling in the state of Massachusetts. Her full-time position is as an Instructional Specialist for Springfield Public Schools, entering her 21st year. She also works for Springfield College as an MTEL Coordinator and for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an independent contractor involved in competency determinations on the ELA MCAS exams. She joined the School Committee in 2024 as a way to further serve the community in which she lives and to help make the Ludlow schools successful places of learning for all students, present and future.
