Sarah Bowler
Sarah Bowler was elected to the Ludlow School Committee in March 2021. She and her husband, Michael, have three children, 2 currently in the Ludlow Public School system and one who just graduated from Ludlow High School (Class of 2021).
A lifelong resident of Ludlow, Mrs. Bowler was raised to understand the importance of education and community by her parents, Norman and Beverly Dudley. Her family were active parishioners at St. Mary's Church where Sarah was a youth member of the Parish Counsel and assisted her mother in teaching First Grade CCD. She graduated from Ludlow High School in 1993 where she was active in sports, music and extracurricular activities, including dance and horseback riding. Working with children has always been a passion for Sarah, who spent her summers as a camp counselor at a residential Girl's Scout Camp where she became a certified lifeguard, swim instructor and Massachusetts licensed horseback riding instructor.
After high school Mrs. Bowler went on to receive double Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Paralegal Studies from Elms College in 1997. She went on to further pursue her Masters Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Guidance Counseling from Westfield College, which she completed in 2005. Before graduating, Mrs. Bowler was inducted into Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. In 2012 she obtained a Post-Master's Certificate in Trauma-Informed Practice with Children and Adolescents from Springfield College School of Social Work.
Mrs. Bowler has worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1997. She started off working as a paralegal at the Office of the Attorney General and then at the Department of Mental Health. It didn't take long for her to realize she missed working with children. In 1999 Mrs. Bowler began working at the Department of Children and Families where she has remained. She has been a supervisor for the last 9 years and helps children who can't return to their families find permanency.
As a member of the Ludlow School Committee, Mrs. Bowler hopes to be an advocate for all students, especially those with Special Needs. It is important that the needs of all the children within the Ludlow Community are met at all times. She believes that a strong, supportive and inclusive school environment benefits all children, their families and the community as a whole.
