RIBBON CUTTING AT HARRIS BROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

On September 25, 2021 Harris Brook Elementary School Co-principals, Nikki Reed and Melissa Knowles, hosted a small ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize and thank those who were instrumental in contributing to this amazing school opening its doors this fall to our students in grades 2-5.

Due to ongoing construction with the second driveway and parking lot the capacity for this event was limited. Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Knowles are looking forward to hosting a public open house to welcome families and community members to tour Harris Brook when the construction is finalized.

We welcome you to read their thoughtful reflections about opening the doors of our newest school to students and staff by clicking here.

CUTEST SURPRISE VISITOR... EVER!

Ludlow High School students in the Child and Family Development Class have been learning about infant care by practicing using a car seat, burping, swaddling, feeding, etc.

The highlight today was a surprise Google Meet visit from LHS's newest mom- Guidance Counselor Emily Connelly and her adorable baby daughter Lennon Rose. Mrs. Connelly talked about a day in the life of Lennon Rose and answered questions from students. #ChildandFamilyDevelopment #surprisevisit #babies #lhspride

Message from Mrs. Nemeth, Interim Superintendent

At the 9/21/21 School Committee meeting, a 5-0 vote in favor of a school calendar change was accepted. I asked the committee to consider changing the teacher professional development day from Nov. 2 to Nov. 3rd so that the faculty and staff could have the opportunity for a presentation on Nov. 3rd from a well sought after motivational speaker. With the affirmative vote, he is now booked for Nov. 3rd.

Hopefully this is enough time for all parents/guardians of young children to change their daycare arrangements and prepare for a full day of school on Nov. 2nd and no school on Nov. 3rd.

In the elementary schools the 1/2 day dismissals will now be Tuesday, Nov. 2nd, Thursday Nov. 4th and Friday, Nov. 5th. Thank you for your understanding.

The updated calendar can be viewed here.
