BELONGING COMMUNITY OPTIMISM GROWTH

District Accommodation Plan (DCAP)

Accommodations

Teachers use formative data from common assessments and universal screenings to identify students’ strengths and needs.  Within the educational setting, teachers use this information to adjust their strategies and provide accommodations for ALL students, so that they may better access the curriculum.

Accommodation is a change in how a student may access information and demonstrate learning.  An accommodation does not substantially change the instructional level, content, or performance criteria.  Accommodations should be tailored to meet students’ needs on an as-needed basis and be specific to the content or situation. . . These are designed to address common learning barriers that students experience.
