James P. Harrington

James “Chip” Harrington was elected to the Ludlow School Committee in March 2005. He and his wife, Noel have two children in the Ludlow Public School system. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, Chip graduated from Ludlow High School in 1986 where he was active in many athletic programs and extra curricular activities. He received a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations from Westfield State College and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Administration from UMASS Amherst. Mr. Harrington has been an active member in Ludlow government since 1991. He was first elected to the Ludlow Recreation Commission in 1991 and served as Chairman of that Commission in 1992. In addition, Mr. Harrington served as a member of the Westover Golf Commission from 1991 to 1994. In 1994 Mr. Harrington was elected to the Ludlow Board of Selectmen where he served until 1997. Since that time he has remained active in town government as a precinct member and a community volunteer while participating in many of his children’s activities.

As a member of the Ludlow School Committee, Mr. Harrington is looking forward to being a strong advocate for the students, teachers and the taxpayers in the Town of Ludlow. As a local business owner, Mr. Harrington feels the success of a strong school system benefits all of the residents both financially and culturally.
